Glowing Waves

“Glowing Waves” an interactive art initiative, aims to bring attention to the ongoing struggle for women’s rights and human rights in Iran. The project invites individuals from various linguistic backgrounds to participate by writing a peaceful message on a plate. The use of a dinner plate, an everyday item, serves as a symbol for universal basic human rights and acts as a metaphor for conscious political involvement in a democratic society.

The collection of messages from various languages and the assembly of these messages into one structure emphasizes what unites us as humans, regardless of language barriers. The written plates symbolize active engagement in public discourse and serve as a testament to the power of community support in the fight for human rights.

Having organized successful events in Australia, Germany, and Switzerland, I am eager to expand the reach of “Glowing Waves.” For those unable to attend events, I invite them to write their own messages on plates and send me a picture of the finished work. To date, I have collected over 250 physical plates, including ceramic and paper plates, and over 300 photos and videos of supportive messages displayed on plates.

This project is a call to action, an invitation to join a global community united in the pursuit of justice and equality. Through the exhibition of these plates, I hope to inspire and motivate individuals to continue the fight for human rights and to inspire them to use their voices to make a difference in the world.
